GoldenEye 007 became an instant classic upon its debut in 1997. Now, re-released on Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch Online or for owners of Rare Replay, the game has been given new life. However, for those who have forgotten the game’s challenges, we’ve prepared a GoldenEye 007 Walkthrough Guide: Facility! This article will cover everything you need to know to complete the second level, Facility, on Agent, Secret Agent and 00 Agent difficulties.
Facility is one of the most famous levels in GoldenEye 007. The difficulty on Secret Agent is approachable, but 00 Agent can be challenging. You’ll also find the story kicking up a gear as Trevelyan shows his true colours, and you’ll meet the infamous Dr. Doak!

GoldenEye 007 Walkthrough Guide: Facility
You begin the level in a vent. Walk forward and take the left turn. You will see a hole in the floor. Looking down, you see two toilet stalls. In the second is a guard: easy pickings for a headshot. Once dispatched, drop into the cubicle.
As you exit the stall, be sure to take out the guard hanging by the right side of the middle urinal section. Grab his KF7 Soviet, but don’t switch to it. Instead, you’ll want to keep quiet for the time being. Go to the stall in front of you, and open it to find another soldier. There’s also another guard in the stall to the left of that one on 00 Agent difficulty.
Open the door and walk out on the stairs. There is a guard on patrol here, but he may or may not be in view depending on your timing. Walk around to the left and dispatch the guard at the bottom of the stairs.
Head downstairs and turn left. There will be some Body Armour here if playing on Agent difficulty. Head through the door and shoot the guy on your right. He will drop a keycard, which is needed to progress. It will open the metal door that was opposite the stairs outside the bathroom. But you must be cautious as you enter.
Upon opening the door you’ll find a number of guards inside (more on higher difficulties). Once they’ve been eliminated, head into the room and activate the computer. It should say “Security Door Activated”. Exit the room and take a left, down the hall and take another left. The door here has now been unlocked, so head through.
As you go through the next door you’ll see a tiled pillar and some lockers. There’s a guard either side of the pillar. Take them out with your PP7, then switch to your KF7 Soviet and get ready to go loud!
Open the next door, and you’ll find a long hallway with three soldiers standing guard. They’ll start firing
immediately, so be prepared! While you’re dealing with them more soldiers will likely come from behind.
After they’ve all been defeated, head into the corridor. If you’re playing on Secret Agent or 00 Agent, you’ll need to find Dr. Doak in one of the rooms connected to this corridor. He’ll give you a Door Decoder you’ll need a little later (Objective B: Completed). If he’s not here, he’ll appear in the lab area (see below).
Head out the door at the end of the corridor, and the one that follows immediately after. There may be guards patrolling here, so take then out and be aware that any noise you make will also draw out the guards in the room opposite.
Once all the guards have been taken out, head into that room opposite and activate the left computer. Head out the room and turn right, then right again. Go through the door before it closes (Objective A: Completed).
There is a guard hiding behind the crates here. Dispatch him them head up the stairs. Around the corner is another guard.
Next is the lab area. There are a few guards hiding here, as well as some scientists. Be sure not to shoot any of the scientists as you’re taking care of the guards. If you’re playing on Secret Agent or 00 Agent and didn’t find Dr. Doak earlier, he will also be here.
Run down the hallway and take out any remaining guards. Run up to the and try to open it. On Secret and 00 Agent it will be locked, so use the Door Decoder to open it.
Head straight into the big room and down the stairs. You can ignore everything else here. Walk up to the giant bottles and Alec Trevelyan will being talking to you (Objective C: Completed).
Walk right up to the big bottles, and switch to your Remote Mines. You’ll want to place them on one row of the bottles, facing inwards towards the other row. This will ensure each Remote Mine destroys two bottles. Handy, as you only have five.
Soon, the alarm will begin sounding. Switch to your detonator and blow the Remote Mines (Objective D: Completed)! Head to the conveyer belt on the far side of the room and out through the gap to complete the level. That is, as long as you haven’t killed too many scientists along the way (Objective E: Completed)!
