Wanted: Dead has taken The South by Southwest Gaming Awards (SXSW) by storm with the in-ceremony debut of a new trailer. 110 Industries’ and Soleil’s high-octane action game blends melee sword combat with gunplay.
Created by 110 Industries and developed by Soleil, Wanted: Dead is an action game set in a dark and dangerous vision of cyberpunk Hong Kong. As previously reported by Chit Hot, Wanted: Dead places players in the role of Lt. Hannah Stone, leader of an elite team known as the “Zombie Squad”. This team operates outside the purview of the traditional police force. Stone’s elite combat skills combine style and substance to deliver cool slow-motion sequences, badass John Wick-style finishers, a limb severing mechanic that changes enemy attack patterns and light tactical elements in the ability to issue orders to teammates.
The new Wanted: Dead trailer (available below) is a perfect embodiment of the game’s unique mix of slick limb-severing violence, tongue in cheek humor and bombastic action – an expertly orchestrated cacophony of violence that offers a taste of the spectacular combat encounters to come.
Wanted: Dead is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. No specific release date has yet been announced, but the game is set to launch later this year.
Founded in Tokyo, Japan in 2008, Soleil has worked on a number of popular games releases in recent years. Among the titles are Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time and Ninjala. Wanted: Dead is most certainly the most adult-orientated title in their current catalogue.
