The story begins as the door to the Afterlife is opened. The old god’s army of the undead escape from within. The game will feature an open world to explore. This vast battlefield includes desert sands, cavernous ruins and towering cities filled with secrets. Players must lead mankind’s final siege against the tide of the dead, mastering a combat system by blending axe wielding, gunplay, magic and more to unleash powerful combos.

Along with the announcement has come a reveal trailer. The trailer features from acclaimed singer-songwriter, Monica Martin, and is available below.

As stated above, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is being developed by A44 Games. The studio’s previous title, Ashen, received high acclaim upon launch. Various ‘game of the year’ nominations and a Metacritic rating ranging from the high 70s to low 90s (depending on format). Ashen offered an adventure in which the player held some responsibility for the relationships they chose. And how those relationships affected the world around them.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn will launch later this year, and will be available For Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via Xbox Game Pass from day one. The game will also launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
