Chit Hot first reported on Daymare 1994: Sandcastle way back in April, 2022. Since that time, the game has received a significant delay. But more than that, it’s building great anticipation. So much so that not only has a retail release been confirmed, but also a Daymare 1994: Sandcastle Collector’s Edition is coming.
Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle is a third-person story-driven survival horror game. It’s the prequel to the critically acclaimed Daymare: 1998, and puts the player in the shoes of special agent Dalila Reyes. A former government spy, now in the service of the secret organisation H.A.D.E.S., Reyes’ mission seems simple: enter the most advanced experimental research facility in the United States. But who knows what dangers await her.
Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle is promising a mix of fierce and deadly enemies, hardcore action game mechanics and environmental puzzles. A chilling soundtrack, plenty of exploration, and massive doses of concentrated horror round out an interesting prospect. Whether or not it can live up to expectation remains to be seen. But the team behind the game certainly seem to believe they have a winner on their hands.
Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle Collector’s Edition
Funbox Media Ltd. recently announced a partnership with GS2 Games Inc, Invader Studios and Leonardo Interactive for the physical release of Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle. The prequel Daymare: 1998 will be released on 30th August, 2023. Alongside it will be a newly revealed Collector’s Edition.
The Daymare 1994: Sandcastle Collector’s Edition will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The special box contains the following contents:
- Collector’s Pin Set
- Sticker Set
- Character Art Cards
- Individually Numbered Collector’s Box
As you can see from the images below, this Collector’s Edition will be limited to just 5,000 copies on each format.
The Daymare 1994: Sandcastle Collector’s Edition is priced at $49.99 USD. The standard retail edition is also available to pre-order, priced at $39.99.
