Read on for all the information you should know before you begin playing.

A new first-person adventure game set in the world of James Cameron‘s Avatar, hopes are high that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora can deliver on its promising early showcases. However, despite now having arrived at launch day, few journalists have had access to the game. Including your own Chit Hot. You’re on your own for this one!

In addition to the aforementioned day one patch, there’s three other areas of note that Ubisoft has highlighted for players beginning their adventure through the Western Frontier. Some of these are more important than others, but all are worth paying attention to in order to make the most out of your Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora experience.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – What You Need to Know

Xbox Players Will Receive Two Discs

Xbox Series X|S players who purchase the physical edition of the game will receive two discs. In the North, Central and South America territories, the Collector’s Edition and Gold Edition will have the second disc in a white envelope within the case, so make sure you don’t miss it.

Playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in 2-Player Co-Op

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora feature two-player, cross-platform co-op. However, it’s not available immediately upon starting the game. Instead, you must complete the quest “The Aranahe Clan” to unlock it.

In co-op, one player acts as the host and the other is the guest. The world will reflect the host’s progress as the co-op session begins. However, progression will also carry over onto the guest’s game data. Quests and activities you complete in co-op do not need to be replayed solo. Both players will keep all progression gained during the co-op session, including gear, items, and collectibles.

In terms of difficulty, the gameplay is not determined by the host. The game will respect each player’s individual settings regardless of who hosts, and how much progress each player has made. It will also take into account each player’s ‘Combat Strength’. In instances where the difficulty is relative to the player’s Combat Strength (presumably, boss fights etc.), the game will adapt its difficultly level to reflect the host.

Equipping Gear, Visuals, and Cosmetics

All slots for gear, visuals and cosmetics will be unlocked through progress in the game. If you received one by pre-ordering, or buying the Gold or Ultimate Edition, you will be able to equip them after you have organically unlocked the corresponding gear slot in your inventory. Don’t worry if they’re not immediately available to you!
