Marvel’s Blade was recently announced at The Game Awards 2023. Since then, it’s been one of the most talked about games by both the industry and fans. There are many topics of discussion – chief among them how the game plays, and which formats it will be released on – but thus far Bethesda has remained pretty quiet on the subject. Developer Arkane Lyon however, is looking to staff up for the project, and as a symptom of that has released some Marvel’s Blade concept art to attract potential candidates.
As stated above, Marvel’s Blade is in the works at Arkane Lyon. This is the studio behind the critically acclaimed Dishonored series and Deathloop. The less popular Redfall was primarily developed by sister studio, Arkane Austin. Little is known about how the game will play. Indeed, other than it being a third-person action game, even the developers may not know yet, as according to parent company Bethesda Marvel’s Blade has ‘just begun’ development. This means it could be years away from release.
Marvel’s Blade Concept Art
While the only thing we have previously seen to support Marvel’s Blade is a trailer (here), we now get some concept art courtesy of Arkane art co-creative director, Sebastien Mitton. Three pieces of art, to be precise, created by Arkane’s Sergey Kolesov and Jean-Luc Monnet.
Within we can find more details on the Paris setting. We see Blade on a rooftop with some unfortunate victims. Overlooking a scuffle outside a nightclub. A fight on the Paris Metro, with a train packed with vampires in the foreground.
As stated above, there’s no release date for Marvel’s Blade yet. In fact, there’s not even a hint of when it could be coming, nor where. Currently expectation is that it will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC, however.
