Continuing the trend of hosting unique events, Fortnite will soon offer gamers the chance to watch a Christopher Nolan movie in-game. What’s more it will be free for all viewers.

Following the premiere of a new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet in Fortnite, an entire movie from The Dark Knight director will play on the virtual big screen. The movie will be viewable in Fortnite‘s Party Royale mode. However, it’s not yet known which Nolan movie will be broadcast.

The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley revealed the news via Twitter. Teasing an ‘iconic’ Nolan film coming to Fortnite this summer, Keighley’s tweet garnered significant popularity.

As popular as the tweet from Keighley became, it includes very little in the way of real information. The image is a grab from the aforementioned Tenet trailer, leaving little indication as to which of Nolan’s films will be shown on the big screen in Fortnite. However, the director’s most ‘iconic’ works are arguably his Batman trilogy. The Dark Knight is probably the most obvious choice, but it could also be Memento, Inception or Interstellar. All of these titles are considered both critical and commercial successes.

Perhaps of most import is the fact that the announcement is confirmation the continuation of Nolan’s partnership with Epic Games. The pairing are certainly interesting bedfellows. Fortnite is one of the most successful games of all time, and Nolan’s popularity doesn’t seem to have waned after his time at the helm of DC Comic’s leading protagonist.

Tenet‘s official release is scheduled for 17th July 2020, and Warner Bros. CEO, Ann Sarnoff, recently committed to a theatrical premiere. However, with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic the likelihood of a delay to that release remains quite high.

In the meantime, you could do worse than making time to enjoy some classic movies that have obviously inspired Nolan. Why not take a look back at the classic Alien, now celebrating 41 years since it’s theatrical debut?
