“But Cradle was the last level!” I hear you cry. As far as the GoldenEye 007 story goes, that is true. However, there are two additional levels added to the mix! This one, Aztec, was inspired by legendary Bond movie Moonraker.

How to Unlock the Aztec Level in GoldenEye 007

The process for unlocking the first secret level in GoldenEye 007 is relatively simple. Aztec is unlocked when all other levels are completed on Secret Agent difficulty. That’s the first eighteen levels; Dam to Cradle. You can find out how to do this with our complete GoldenEye 007 walkthrough guide!

GoldenEye 007 Walkthrough Guide: Aztec

Now that you’ve managed to unlock the Aztec level in GoldenEye 007, you’re going to want to know how to complete it! Read on for the complete GoldenEye 007 Walkthrough Guide: Aztec.

Primary Objectives:

A: Reprogram shuttle guidance system
B: Launch shuttle

You begin in an alcove in a big room with three guards in it. These are Moonraker Elite, so they’re pretty tough. Crouch and face left. then, creep over the side of the alcove to take your shot. As soon as you do, the other guards are going to come running up to you.

After the fire fight, run out and grab the Assault Rifles. Head out of the room through a secret door opposite. Fire off a few shots to get the attention of the guard standing guard in front of the door.

Switch to your Assault Rifle and lean over the left side of the door. At the top of the screen you will see a Moonraker Elite hiding behind some crates. In order to properly ambush him, you have to move into a very precise position. While doing so, two more will probably come out of the sides in the hallway.

Once those guards are defeated you can go into the hallway. But don’t go too far – on your right, you should see a pillar. On the left side of that pillar, you can see a yellow arm through the Assault Rifle scope.

Walk into the room, and aim your rifle on to the right side of the other pillar and you will see another guard. Once eliminated, run into the room, watching out for the pit.

Equip the PP7 and head to the door in the rear wall. Open it and move in, before quickly reversing out. There are two guards here, and you cued them to come for you, leading to another easy ambush.

After those guards are defeated go into the control room. Another guard will come for you. Duck into the alcove on the right and remove him from play. As you do, you’ll attract the attention of two other guards in the room.

After all of the guards are dead you can look around the room, but don’t shoot the glass. There is another secret door that is made up of the terminals to the right of the glass. To open it, activate the computer to the left of the terminals.

There is a guard standing on the other side of the door, and around the next corner are three more.

The next room is dangerous. Instead of heading straight in, flush out the Moonraker Elites with a grenade.

Walk into the room and the door will suddenly close. Shoot one of the computers on the left of the rear wall and run into the vent to safety. Do not go around the corner.

Wait here while the shuttle fires and a few guards will head your way. Make sure no more will come, and equip your newly acquired Moonraker Laser. Look around the corner and take out the drone guns.

There’s also a Body Armour here. Take a right at the drone guns, and go to the end of the hall.

Now it’s time to leave the vent. Go forward and take a left. Follow the corridor around a few twists and turns, then stop when you can see the exit.

Aim your Assault Rifle out of the vent. You should see another vent across the room. A guard is here, and also a drone gun.

Walk to the edge of the vent and turn to your right. Another drone gun, and then also one on the ceiling to your left.

Move out of the vent and hide behind the stack of crates. Across the room, where the third drone gun was, are three Moonraker Elite, all armed with lasers. There is also a fourth drone gun on your right, also mounted on the ceiling.

There is another guard here, hiding in a little alcove in the right wall.

Once cleared, run over to the opposite side of the room by the Shuttle. Next to it is a ladder. Climb it and head around the corner. Activate the computer. When the hatch is open, pull out your laser and run across the room through the opposite vent. Head down the circular stairs and shoot the guard with his back to you.

Go down the first set of stairs that you see. Here you’ll meet Jaws for the first time!

Run back up the stairs and on to the circular stairway by the entrance to the big room. Jaws should be following you.

Jaws will fall into the same trap as many enemies. He’ll be reluctant to shoot while moving on the stairs, so be sure to use this to your advantage. He carries two Assault Rifles, so can easily take you out if you spend too much time in his line of fire.

An alternative method is to go in super close, and try to stay in between the reach of his two extended arms. This can be a good method on easier difficulty settings, but on 00 Agent one wrong move can be fatal.

After Jaws has fallen, grab his two Assault Rifles. Jaws also drops a Security Smart Card that you’ll be needing.

Run back up the circular stairs and into the shuttle room, then into the vent. Head through the vent, past the destroyed out drone guns and take a right. Continue through the opened door, down the hallways, and open the Terminal passage next to the computer. You’ll be back in the control room.

The glass door can now be opened with Jaws’ Security Smart Card. Open the door, then close it behind you. Grab the DAT on the right table. Equip the Guidance Data and use it on the disk drive (Objective A: Completed).

Guards will now come from the secret door. Head through and run to the right. There will be at least two guards waiting for you here. However, be sure to keep moving the whole time. Down the hall, into the vent and take a left. Head down the corridor and into the Shuttle Launch Room.

Run to the side of the room where the computer screens are. Walk up to the terminal, and use your DAT on it. This will start a countdown. Run across the room to the ladder and climb it. Usually, while you’re climbing the ladder, a guard will come out of nowhere and shoot you.

Head around the corner to the computer. The countdown should have stopped because you left the shuttle bay open. Close it with the computer. Turn around and aim at the ladder, as often a guard will ascend to take you by surprise.

The hanger bay will open, and the shuttle will launch (Objective B: Completed).
