Gearbox Publishing has revealed that Abstraction Games’ forthcoming reboot of Gigantic will include two new maps. Picaro Bay and Heaven’s Ward will be introduced in the Gigantic comeback, known as Gigantic: Rampage Edition.
If you’re new to Gigantic, you’ll be pleased to know that the MOBA Hero Shooter is teeming with expansive and intricate battlefields. Each filled with creatures, such as massive Guardians, for players to jump into thrilling team-based battles. The two new maps, Picaro Bay and Heaven’s Ward, will expand the world of Gigantic and introduce unique battlegrounds that both players who played the original release, and new players preparing for the Gigantic comeback release.
Gigantic Comeback New Maps
Below are more details on what you can expect when you jump into these two maps:
- Picaro Bay: a breezy seaside map with verticality, narrow alleyways, and a pirate ship for waging fast paced clashes. Known for being “the only place where most certainly every resident has a bounty on their head”.
Picaro Bay is on an unassuming little island on the south edge of nowhere. Players will discover this pirate-themed map has three distinct areas. The two opposing camps on both sides of the map filled with colorful banners, markings, buildings and more. Then there’s the main battlefield sitting right in the center of town, and of course the war-torn pirate ship where dead heroes will tell no tales.
The map features a slew of flank routes for melee heroes to rush in and do some damage. That’s along with multiple buildings for ranged heroes to get a high-ground advantage over high-traffic areas. Players will need to watch their backs at all times.
- Heaven’s Ward: a heavily industrialised district that showcases an old power plant, warehouses, and factories with many nooks and crannies. Heaven’s Ward is a small district of a much larger floating city, the capital city of house Tesserus called Sky City.
Players will need to watch their step and mind the gaps as they traverse across this vibrant, futuristic map. Featuring abandoned factories and massive powerplant to wage battles in, players can utilize jump pads to strategically get away or closer to the action in a blink of an eye.
Gigantic: Rampage Edition New Maps Trailer
Gigantic: Rampage Edition is a premium re-release of the original 5v5 MOBA Hero Shooter, Gigantic. You’ll choose from a diverse roster of unique heroes, each with a set of upgradeable abilities, and team up with four other players to control objectives and take down the opposing team’s mighty Guardian, all while protecting your own.
The Gigantic comeback includes a new game mode, cross-platform play, new heroes, new maps, and gameplay improvements. Gigantic: Rampage Edition will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 9th April, 2024. The game will be priced at £16.99 GBP / €19,99 EUR.
