Skaven’s Warlock Engineer
Fusing magic and technology, the new Warlock Engineer uses warpstone-infused bullets to take down enemy characters from afar. The rat clans tend to be used as cannon fodder to allow stronger allies to outmanoeuvre their enemies, their huge numbers clogging up the battlefield.
With the new Warlock Engineer, the Skaven now add some much-needed range to their infantry arsenal.
Stats and Abilities
Games Workshop has released the Warscroll for the Warlock Engineer, detailing some exciting stats.
- Core stats:
- 5+ Save/6″ Move/5 Health & 2 Control
- Warplock Musket – 24″ range, 2 Attacks, 3+ Hit, 3+ Wound, 2 Rend & D3 Damage. Plus a Critical (auto-wound ability).
- Warp-forged Dagger – 3 Attacks, 4+ Hit, 4+ Wound, 2 Damage.
Players can further amplify the musket’s power using the reaction ability More-More Warp Energy. This grants a flat 3 Damage for the turn, provided players shoot without moving.
Furthermore, Engineers are spiteful Sniper-Masters. This means they can spot enemy leaders and ignore the Guarded Hero ability. Previously called the “Look Out Sir!” rule, this ability allows smaller heroes to hide amongst infantry ranks.
The Skaven Mobilise
Just like the other new Skaven coming to Age of Sigmar, a specific launch date for the Warlock Engineer is unknown.
There are plenty of new AoS details to keep you busy in the meantime. Learn how the new army building works and the reworked priority roll for starters.
