The Gothic series is making quite the comeback. Debuting way back in 2001, the series has seen highs and lows, but there’s a keen fanbase ready to follow wherever it leads. For PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC players that’s to a remake of the original. With a decidedly expensive Gothic Collector’s Edition also available. On Nintendo Switch however, we’re getting some classic Gothic.

The Gothic Games
As stated above, the original Gothic hails back to 2001. The original game, developed by Piranha Bytes, was very well received at launch. The Nintendo Switch version of the game is a direct port.
The game is a large RPG with a choice of three different allegiances, all of which offer a different perspective on the story. Gothic II built on the success of the original game, packing more than 100 unique missions into the game. And that’s before the critically acclaimed add-on, Night of the Raven, which is also included in the Nintendo Switch edition.

A port of the original Gothic, known as Gothic Classic, launched on Nintendo Switch last year. It was followed a month later by Gothic II. Now however, publisher THQ Nordic is bundling the two together in a single retail package.
The Gothic Classic Khorinis Saga features the timeless classics Gothic and Gothic II Complete. Together, the package offers over 100 hours of RPG adventures, optimised for Nintendo Switch.
The Gothic Classic Khorinis Saga is set to launch on 27th June, 2024. The bundle will be available at an SRP of €39.99 EUR/$39.99 USD/£34.99 GBP, and is a retail exclusive edition.
Both titles are currently available individually. However, the pricing suggests that this new package offers far greater value. Gothic Classic is available at an SRP of €29.99/$29.99/£24.99, while Gothic II Complete Classic is available at an SRP of $29.99/€29.99/£24.99. The Gothic Classic Khorinis Saga marks a significant saving on buying both titles separately.
