C2 Game Studio and Versus Evil have released an all new demo for their upcoming third-person action-RPG game, Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients. Set in a fantastical world full of ancient ruins, it’s up to you to unearth the secrets of a lost civilization and stop the world from falling into darkness when Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients launches on PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms in early 2024.

The world of Gliese is threatened by dark forces. Astor, a young warrior, is thrown the mantle. He must unearth the secrets of the past to save the future. Players will find themselves exploring majestic, mysterious ruins and ancient temples in an epic fight for the planet’s survival. Only Astor – you – can gather the ancient powers and legendary weapons needed to stop an unholy ritual.

On your quest, players will journey across an expansive, colorful world. Abandoned ruins and derelict temples from a long forgotten era pepper the landscape, teasing mysterious tales that you must uncover. Explore deep forests, sprawling deserts, frozen tundras, and crumbling ancient structures as you embark upon a globe-trotting adventure. Aided by an enigmatic presence, Astor will dive into a storyline filled with endearing characters.

Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients Demo

This new demo teases Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients‘ combo-based combat system. Players have the opportunity to wield a variety of ancient weapons and special abilities. Use the Runic Swarm to summon constructs, crush enemies with massive boulders, or protect themselves with a rock formation shield. In this demo you’ll learn to master light, heavy and ranged attacks, swap armaments on the fly, block and dodge with precision, and fill up your combo meter to unleash devastating finishers.

“We wanted Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients to capture the wonder and whimsy of 80s fantasy films, but with the complex, combo-heavy combat of something like Devil May Cry, God of War, or Nier Automata,” said Luis Correa, Founder & game director at C2 Game Studio. “We hope this demo gives people a taste of the type of action we’re going for, though the final game will obviously include far more exploration.”

The game will launch in early 2024. As stated above, it will be available for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC. This new demo version is currently only available on PC, however.
