Kalypso Media recently announced the release date for The Inquisitor. Coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in early 2024, the much-delayed game presents a tale of darkness and foreboding. And those eager to take the plunge can today get a behind the scenes look at The Inquisitor in a new video.
Voice actor Jamie Maclachlan recorded the voice of the protagonist for the game, Mordimer Madderdin. This first developer diary will focus on Jamie’s performance as Madderdin, the titular inquisitor of the game. Delving into his interpretation of the character and giving special insights into how he performed the role. Two additional developer diaries will be released leading up to launch, further exploring the team behind The Inquisitor, and the world (and Unworld) of the game’s story.
In the game, your role as an Inquisitor is to maintain order and enforce the faith in God. But the world is full of sinners who have lost their way. You must decide the fates of those you judge in multiple story-driven cases and missions. This is a world where morality and what is right have long strayed from each other. So, will you show mercy or undying belief in The Holy Law?
Much of the gameplay will see you making decisions based on the evidence available. But sometimes, a tongue just needs to be cut right out in order to loosen it. A full sword-based combat system means various cases will let or even require you to use brute force. Master your blade, find your openings, and use your enemy’s weak points against them.
