Publisher eastasiasoft has announced a delay to the release date for the Nintendo Switch version of Xuan Yuan Sword 7. Originally intended for release in 2023, the digital and physical release of on Nintendo Switch is now expected in Spring 2024.
Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is an action-RPG with real-time combat and a cinematic narrative. It is a celebration of ancient China’s landscape, civilization, and culture, infused with the mystique of its own legends in stark contrast to anachronistic technological designs. It is a world that is both familiar and mysterious, one of both science and spirituality, one that is waiting to be explored.
The game is a standalone experience, and is the latest in the series’ 33-year history. This Nintendo Switch version has been made possible by eastasiasoft in partnership with Softstar and original developer DOMO Studio. Porting has been led by eastasiasoft in close cooperation with Catness Game Studios. According to eastasiasoft, the game has undergone ‘months of optimisation’ for the ‘best possible experience’. The team hopes to make Xuan Yuan Sword 7 one of the most visually impressive games to release on the Nintendo Switch.
Xuan Yuan Sword 7 Limited Edition for Nintendo Switch
Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is reportedly in its final stages of development for Nintendo Switch. For physical release, Eastasiasoft has committed to having the full experience on the game card, which will require a 16GB card due to the RPG’s size, graphics and cinematic presentation.
There will also be a Limited Edition release, which will include:
- The game.
- A Manual.
- Soundtrack CD.
- Art book.
- Numbered certificate.
- A collector’s box.
Preorders are now open with online retail partner PlayAsia. Standard copies are also be available as an open preorder.
The game features subtitle support for English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. As stated above, the Nintendo Switch edition of Xuan Yuan Sword 7 will now release in Spring 2024.
