Flooded takes a familiar gaming concept and turns it on it’s head. You’ve surely played a number of city management games. From the classic Sim City to Endzone: A World Apart to Cities: Skylines, there’s a lot of opportunity to build and manage your own city in various different environments. But what if that city was already established, and it was your duty to secure it’s future? And what if that future involved water? A lot of water.
In the game, water levels have suddenly risen worldwide. All who survive find the solid ground remaining on the surface of our planet shrinking extremely quickly. Together with a group of miners, your only goal, for now, is to find safe ground.
As the land keeps shrinking, you’ll have to act quickly. Raise new buildings, gather resources, upgrade already built structures, and figure out how to escape from the island. But while you’re doing all this, the waters will continue to rise. You’ll have to build defensive structures, plant water mines, and raise turrets to keep your people safe, not only from the water but also from the pirates. Yes, pirates.
Flooded Trailer
In Flooded, the campaign mode follows the story of a group of miners whose peaceful lives were turned upside down in the blink of an eye by an enigmatic cataclysm. You’ll explore uninhabited islands, meet new allies, fight mysterious invaders and discover the secret behind the great flood. You can handle things a bit differently with Quickplay and Endless options, the latter of which sees the water being pushed back through development cycles, giving you a chance of surviving the next wave.
Flooded released on PC in early 2023, where it was welcomed by many. A Nintendo Switch version followed later that year. Now, Xbox and PlayStation gamers get the chance to save their cities as Flooded comes to new consoles from 23rd February, 2023.
