Maniac Panda Games has today launched One Last Breath. Developed by Catness Games, the 2.5D platform-puzzler casts you as Gaia, an earth goddess born from mother nature’s very last breath. You’re thrust into existence in a post-apocalyptic earth where humanity has all but vanished. Now, it’s up to you to restore life back to the planet.
Gaia’s powers allow her to control the environment. You can create paths using tree trunks, or summon vines to hang between gaps. Of course, these abilities are used in a variety of puzzles. Throughout your journey you’ll visit abandoned factories filled with hazardous, ancient obstacles that are mysteriously still operational.
It’s not simply a case of getting from A to B, however. Decades of pollution and greed have twisted the land into a hostile ruin full of deadly aberrations. This polluted landscape is crawling with mutants who will mercilessly hunt you down. You must be careful if you’re to restore the planet and uncover the truth about what happened to humanity.
“One Last Breath is a unique game exploring very real, urgent issues of climate change,” said Daniel Valdes, CEO at Maniac Panda Games. “That said, we didn’t set out to make a nihilistic, cynical game, but rather a message of hope and wonder, reminding players of the beauty of nature and how we’re at a crucial point in human history where we can still make a difference.”
