Prepare for an adventure through space and time as developer Tiny Roar and publisher Assemble Entertainment provide a long-awaited first look at XEL. The picturesque action-slash-sci-fi game is coming this summer to Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam and GOG. The verdant adventure will also launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 & 5 later this year.
A 3D sci-fi fantasy, XEL follows an amnesiac protagonist named Reid. Reid finds herself shipwrecked on a mystifying planet with no memory of who she is or where she’s from. Throughout your journey you will make new friends and foes, learn new moves, find new gadgets. Some of which will help her jump through space and time itself.
As Reid delves deeper into the mysteries surrounding the world of XEL, she discovers an endless cycle of peril. What exactly happened to this world, and who is responsible? Does she have the strength and courage to end the cycle for good, or will she too become trapped?
Billed as a “love letter to classic Zelda titles,” XEL’s latest trailer (below) shows off the strikingly fluorescent landscapes awaiting players. You’ll also get a sneak peek at some of the game’s puzzle levels and its core mechanic and story element: time travel.
XEL launches on Windows PC via Steam and GOG, as well as Nintendo Switch, in summer 2022. The adventure also come to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 later this year.
