A new co-op, side-scrolling beat-’em-up, Fallen City Brawl, has been revealed to launch in 2022. Coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Fallen City Brawl is being developed by Fallen City Studio.
As a brutal battle for control of Fallen City’s criminal underworld rages, four strangers join forces to try and reclaim the streets. With a ferocious wolf at their sides, these unlikely allies will face impossible odds. Along the way, motivations and past lives will collide, further testing their loyalty as well as their fighting skills. Only by binding together can they reach the final showdown that will decide who lives and who falls.
The game is obviously inspired by arcade beat-’em-ups of the late ’80s and early ’90s. The game is a story of ambition and revenge told through side-scrolling pixel art action. Huge sprites and animated backgrounds breathe life into the dying city streets. Animated cutscenes and a soundtrack by famed composer Daniel Lindholm (Street Fighter V, Resident Evil 6) set the tone for urban mayhem.
As stated above, Fallen City Brawl will be playable solo or in two-player co-op. The game will feature eight unique stages and four playable characters. The game’s fighting mechanics promise depth with destructive combos, counters, air-throws, grappling, parries, special moves and “RIOT” supers. There’s also an assortment of weapons to collect, including pipes, bats, knives, firearms, and chainsaws.
