Pokémon Go Evolving Stars Event Details
A number of unique assets are being added to the game as part of the Pokémon Go Evolving Stars event. These include a new Special Research task set, new wild encounters, a Mega Gyarados Raid Day and much more besides! The full details of all the included content follow below.
Season of Light Special Research
A new chapter of the Season-long Special Research will unlock during the Pokémon Go Evolving Stars event. Complete it to take another step on your stellar adventure with Cosmog. There’s also four Collection Challenges focused on evolving Pokémon. Be sure to complete those to receive your Collection Challenge medals!
You’ll also receive Evolution items for completing the Collection Challenges. Though, if you’re a regular player, this may not be much of a benefit!
Evolution Cup
A new PvP challenge will be added to the game, known as the ‘Evolution Cup’. Only Pokémon under 1,500 CP will be eligible, and in a further twist they must also have been evolved at least once!
Mega Gyarados Raid Day
From Saturday, 8th October, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00pm local time, Mega Gyarados will appear more frequently in raids. You can receive up to five additional Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms, and you’ll have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Gyarados.
Cosmeom
Finally, as stated above, Cosmoem will make its Pokémon Go debut. Trainers will be able to evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem by using 25 Cosmog Candy. But wait! There’s more…
Apparently, players needn’t worry about evolving their only Cosmog. Niantic has stated that players will have the opportunity to encounter additional Cosmog in the ‘distant’ future. So, that’s something, at least.
Pokémon Go Evolving Stars Event Timings
The event will begin today, 5th October, 2022, at 10am local time. It will run until Tuesday, 11th October, 2022, at 8:00pm local time.
