A brand new Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed free DLC pack is now available for all players. The 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer game is updated for all. This packed free DLC is free now on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed was a very well received title. Debuting in October 2023, the asymmetrical multiplayer did well to represent an interactive Ghostbusters experience. However, many felt the content was a bit thin. This new Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed free DLC pack aims to address those concerns.
In our Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed review, Chit Hot stated: “It’s hard to see the game having the same endurance as Evil Dead: The Game without significant longevity alterations, but what is here is fun to player with friends. Playing solo is also enjoyable, but notably less so. Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is an easy recommendation for quick Halloween thrills. However, whether you’ll still be playing it well into November greatly depends on what comes next.”
Now, the first Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed free DLC pack brings a whole host of new content to all players.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Free DLC Contents
- New Map – The Facility: The Facility closed for good in the late 1980s and has been recently purchased by a private investor group. They have plans to renovate and reopen the facility. Unfortunately, it’s being plagued by ghostly activity. The construction crews refuse to enter this haunted health center.
Design Director, Jordan Mathewson shares what makes playing this map unique, “This job location is clearly worn by time which gives players a unique feeling compared to our previous job locations. Construction workers are civilians and have begun a restoration of this facility that has uncovered why it was abandoned in the first place. Varied corridors combined with medium-sized rooms are built stacked up to provide a unique, more intimate gameplay experience with a creepier aesthetic. There will be some interesting ways to utilize these new areas in this map to each player’s, Ghostbuster or Ghost, advantage.” - New Ghost Type – Glutton (which includes Muncher plus two additional variants): Immediately recognisable, Muncher, is a fan-favourite Ghost.
- Firehouse Additions – Players will see new character customisation options. Gear like the Belt Gizmo and Disruptor Pylon, along with improvements to gear attachments, will be added.
- Game Play – Improvements to game matchmaking are promised. Additionally, all bots in the game have been improved, both those haunting you and those helping you bust ghosts.
IllFonic has plans to release similar Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed free DLC packs each quarter of 2023. This is in addition to the continued quality of life patches.
