Hot Blood is a new zombie bashing game coming in 2023. From the developer of Drunken Fist, Deklazon, the game takes the established melee combat formula and adds… women in bikinis.
You may think that doesn’t sound like the most dynamic approach to game development. And you’d be right. However, Drunken Fist and it’s sequel, Drunken Fist 2: Zombie Hangover, were enjoyable – if shallow – comedy games. Hot Blood looks set to follow that pattern. It will also add voiced dialogue, which will be a step-up from its predecessors.
Players take the role of ‘sassy’ smack-talking heroine Roxy. She’s taken off guard by a zombie apocalypse breaking out while she’s shopping at the mall with her boyfriend. You’ll have to survive the onslaught while trying to find said boyfriend. And, you know, change your outfit a few times while doing it.
Hot Blood is a physics-based brawler that’s designed for casual replay or hardcore speed runs. The game will reportedly offer plenty of challenge without taking itself too seriously. Players can customise Roxy with a variety of outfits and hairstyles as they visit everything from clothing stores to city streets. And along the way they can pick up improvised weaponry and wade through hordes of undead baddies.
Hot Blood Launch Plans
At present, Hot Blood is only confirmed for a PC release. However, given that both Drunken Fist and Drunken Fist 2: Zombie Hangover made their way to consoles, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see releases on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 shortly thereafter.
Hot Blood is coming to PC via Steam in 2023. However, no specific release date has yet been announced for the game.
