The highly anticipated Off the Grid is taking an unusual route to market. Developed in association with renown film directly Neill Blomkamp, the game is being accompanied by a number of story videos. Today, Off the Grid Cinema episode 1, entitled ‘Vincent’, has debuted.
The Off the Grid Cinema is designed to accompany the upcoming game launch. It will let viewers experience the world of Off the Grid through seven standalone stories. Each will introduce a unique aspect of futuristic warfare occurring on Teardrop Island.
Off the Grid Cinema Episode 1 ‘Vincent’
One of the three warring ‘MegaCorporations’ ruling the island, Cascadia Global, is teetering on the brink of chaos. Board member Vincent Roberts is trying to prevent this. However, after being backed into a corner, he decides to call in a mercenary. One which he does not have a favourable relationship with.
You can watch this first introduction to the world of Off the Grid below. But be warned, this is no Bridget Jones.
Off the Grid Cinema is directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Chappie), Chief Visionary Officer at Gunzilla Games. Each new episode will reveal a new piece of Off the Grid lore in the build up to the game’s launch. Off the Grid is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. No specific release date has yet been announced for the game.
