Following the global launch of Dead Island 2 on 21st April, 2023, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have announced its sales and surpassed one million copies in just three days on sale. The game represents the long-awaited follow-up to the 2011 original Dead Island, and has proved very popular amongst fans.
Dead Island 2 suffered from a protracted development period. No less than three different studios were involved in the title, with production of the game having been restarted numerous times. The game was finally brought across the finish line by Dambuster Studios. The resulting release was far more similar to Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide than perhaps was expected.
Chit Hot’s own Dead Island 2 review reflected this, stating: “It’s bold, brash and big. If you enjoyed the original releases, there should be nothing stopping you from getting your zombie-bashing buddies into action this weekend.”
