In addition, Tango Gameworks has also released the Spider’s Thread Update to all platforms. This includes PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The story of Ghostwire: Tokyo sees the city’s population vanished. Deadly supernatural forces now prowl the streets. Players must hone their otherwordly abilities to unravel the truth behind the disappearance, and ultimately save the city.
The Xbox launch of Ghostwire: Tokyo will include all the updates made to the game since its original release, as well as feature the Spider’s Thread Update.
Ghostwire: Tokyo Spider’s Thread Update
In addition to the release of Ghostwire: Tokyo Xbox edition, a new update is available for all formats. The Spider’s Thread Update brings an all-new game mode, new areas to explore, extended story cutscenes, and expanded combat options.
The Spider’s Thread adds a roguelite element to the game. The mode tasks players to navigate a 30-stage gauntlet selected from over 120 hand-crafted levels. Some stages are straightforward, such as tackling a combat arena of Visitors, while others require a variety of other essential ghost-hunting skills to surpass like stealth and navigating Tokyo’s rooftops. As you make your way through the increasingly intense stages and clear special challenges, you’ll earn Nekomata Koban to become stronger. This can then be exchanged with the friendly feline shopkeeper for crucial skill upgrades, beads and enhancements. Should you be defeated, some of those upgrades you’ve earned will be retained, making you stronger for your next run.
Ghostwire: Tokyo is available now for Xbox Series X|S. The game is offered as part of a Game Pass subscription. The Spider’s Thread Update is free for all players on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
