Indie developer WildArts have announce their upcoming adventure RPG Born of Bread will launch this autumn. The game was expected sooner, but the slight delay will, according to the developers, ‘be worth the wait’.

Born of Bread is a turn-based role-playing adventure that throws back to classic cartoony RPGs. The game is designed to be full of fun characters and charming stories, for children and adults alike. Players will explore a world ripe with mysteries, ranging from the enigmatic ruins of the Forest of Roots to the freezing landscapes of Frosty Flats. With the help of your buddies, you’ll face off against menacing baddies in quirky turn-based/real-time hybrid combat.

“We know Born of Bread is taking a little longer to bake than we expected, but it’ll be worth the wait,” said WildArts Lead Designer and Programmer Nicolas Lamarche. “The best pastries take time, and we think we wanted to create the perfect blend of RPG ingredients. We’re confident that the final dish will be delicious indeed when Born of Bread launches this Fall”.

Born of Bread Launch Plans

In the game, players will mold an eclectic cast of characters in a 2.5D illustrated setting. You’ll engage with environmental puzzles and unique turn-based/real-time hybrid battles. You should be sure you know what your enemy is weak or resistant against, as it will take brains and reflexes to thwart Born of Bread‘s throngs of foes.

The game will launch on PC, Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series platforms this autumn. No specific release date has yet been announced. The game is being built in collaboration with Dear Villagers, a team that has recently found great success with titles such as Souldiers and Nocturnal.
