A new Assassin’s Creed game is set to launch next month, bringing ninth-century Baghdad to consoles and PC. For those in the latter camp, the revelation of the PC specification requirements will allow for some planning ahead of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage launch.

The forthcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage is creating somewhat of a stir. While the game is by no means a remake, Ubisoft have been promising a return to an early style of play. Early previews have conflicting opinions on this, but fans of the series should certainly be intrigued.

Players will experience the journey of Basim to become a Hidden One, undertaking investigations and assassinations. The game will support an uncapped frame rate in upto 4K with HDR and both multi-monitor and widescreen support. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will also offer a number of additional features, outlined by Ubisoft:

  • Intel’s AI-assisted XeSS Super Sampling, which upscales resolution while enabling hardware for more frames per second.
  • Optimisation for Intel Arc GPUs and 13th-generation CPUs.
  • Synchronise ambient lighting with the game’s action using MSI’s Mystic Light products.
  • Upper-body haptic feedback with the OWO Haptic Gaming System vest (which is also supported on consoles).

The Star Wars Jedi Survivor PC requirements, a game which has been maligned with PC performance issues since launch offers a good comparison. Using the usual set-up of minimum/recommended, the game asks for a relative minimum entry as the 1080p High Preset above. Let’s hope Ubisoft can deliver a better performance on that level.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will launch on 5th October, 2023. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna. The game is also included on day one with a Ubisoft+ subscription.
