Hot on the heels of the official announcement of Visions of Mana, Square Enix has revealed some screenshots taken from the game. Showcasing the in-game action and some of the characters you’ll meet along the way, these Visions of Mana screenshots are full of hope for the series’ fanbase.
Visions of Mana is the latest title in Square Enix’s long running Mana series. However, while there have 17 titles released, the last mainline release was 15 years ago. The ill-fated Echoes of Mana, an iOS and Android title, was the last to use the series moniker. Sadly, it lasted less than a year.
The 2018 Secret of Mana remake was well received, as was the Collection of Mana compilation. Perhaps evidence that a return to the roots of the series is in order?
A Vision of the Mana Series’ Future
The official Visions of Mana announce trailer is encouraging. It reveals a brightly coloured open world, real-time combat and famous locales from the series. However, we still don’t know many important facets of the game. Chief among them for long-time fans, will Visions of Mana support multiplayer in any form?
We do know it does have Rabites, though. So that’s a win.
Visions of Mana will be launching in 2024. No specific release date has yet been announced. The game will be made available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Visions of Mana Screenshots
As previously revealed, the story of Visions of Mana casts the player as Val. Every four years, alms from around the world are chosen to travel to the Tree of Mana and rejuvenate the flow of mana power. A soul guard is also chosen to ensure the alms’ safe pilgrimage. Val is one such guard. When Val’s childhood friend is selected to be an Alm, he sets off on a journey across the world to accompany her on the pilgrimage.
In the new Visions of Mana screenshots below, we can see Val and his friend. A number of other characters, enemies and action sequences are also captured in stills. And yes, Rabites. Rabites for everyone.
