Director Kevin Smith has made a name for himself with quirky comedies like Dogma and Mallrats. But it was 1994’s Clerks that first got his name on the map, and he has been returning to the franchise and its characters ever since. He’s made three Clerks movies in total and now you can enjoy them all in a very special box set.
Available exclusively through Amazon, the Clerks I-III Premium Box Set comprises Clerks (1994), Clerks 2 (2006) and Clerks 3 (2022) all on Blu-ray. You’ll also get a complimentary digital version. What makes the set unique is the fact that the package is a 3D miniature of the Quick Stop and RST Video storefronts.
Additionally, the set also features a replica VHS return slot to place the DVD box in. Plus several cling stickers to “vandalize” the wall, various in-jokes from the series and Smith’s other movies.
History of Clerks
If you’re a fan of Smith then you’ve probably already seen Clerks hundreds of times. Shot entirely in black and white, the grocery store he used was a proper store which meant they could only shoot at night after it closed. The film stars Brian O’Halloran as Dante who works as the convenience store clerk. Next door at the video rental outlet is his mate Randal (Jeff Anderson). However, what made the film a hit – Miramaz picked up the film at Sundance Film Festival – was Jay and Silent Bob. Two hapless drug dealers, they were played by Jason Mewes and Smith respectively.
It was Jay and Silent Bob that would go onto further stardom. They got their on installments in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot as well as the Clerks sequels.
The Clerks premium box set is available from today on Amazon for $129.99 USD. Will you be adding a copy to your collection? Let us know in the comments below.
