Developer Adrienne Bazir (insertdisc5) and publisher Armor Games Studios, In Stars and Time is now available for consoles and PC. The turn-based, time-loop RPG has launched on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
In Stars and Time begins at the very end of Siffrin’s quest. A tyrannical king has been slowly freezing the land in time. Siffrin’s ready to put an end to his nefarious actions. But with one final fight left for the adventurer and their friends – Mirabelle, Isabeau, Odile, and Bonnie – to overcome, tragedy strikes. The clock resets. The quintet is forced to start again.
In a cruel twist, pun-master protagonist Siffrin is the only one aware of the time-loop. Burdened with this painful and exhausting knowledge, he must lead his oblivious found family through loop after loop as they fight to end this temporal tragedy once and for all.
In Stars and Time is a Roguelike with a Twist
Each new loop the players encounter grants Siffrin a fresh perspective on the world. You can reveal new solutions to puzzles and new conversation choices. You must seek out the truth as you explore, chat with your gang and challenge deadly foes in Rock-Paper-Scissors combat. In time, you’ll be able to equip memories to buff your party, and pray to the Change God for good luck. You’ll need it.
The game aims to tackle some serious issues. The store copy highlights that In Stars and Time occasionally explores topics that some players might find upsetting, such as death, mental illness, and violence. As intriguing as the story and gameplay set-up sounds, it’s also not a world to step into lightly.
In Stars and Time is out now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The game is priced at $19.99 USD. Are you intrigued by the game? Let us know in the comments below.
