Brainwash Gang’s Laika: Aged Through Blood launched on PC back in October. The game has received an overwhelming positive response via Steam, and as such it’s about time console gamers got in on the action. Now, the massively popular ‘motorvania’ is available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, with a Nintendo Switch edition set to follow.
As stated above, the game was developed by Brainwash Gang. The game has been by Headup Games, the label responsible for the interesting but ultimately flawed Gigapocalypse. Laika: Aged Through Blood is a tale entwining themes of blood and vengeance with potent elements of parenthood and hope. The narrative follows the journey of a mother coyote on a blood-soaked, two-wheeled quest to rescue her people and safeguard her family.

Laika: Aged Through Blood Gameplay
The game promises a new take on an established genre. Metroidvania gameplay is turned on it’s head, hence the above claim as a ‘motorvania’, thanks to high-speed vehicular combat. The game is set in a hand-drawn post-apocalyptic world, filled with boss battles and skill-based power-ups. All on two-wheels.
Players drive, jump, pull tricks, and fight through the game’s huge world on their trustworthy motorbike. You must race through the wasteland and perform dangerous jumps, shoot enemies in slow-mo, and reload your gun by performing a backflip. Along the way you’ll use skill-based power-ups and fight challenging battles against bosses.
As stated above, Laika: Aged Through Blood is now available for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, following the PC release back in October, 2023. Nintendo Switch owners aren’t being left without a ride however, with the game confirmed for release on 11th January, 2024.
