Following the release of a Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles demo back in January, the full game is now available for PC and console. Created by Tomas Sala, Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is designed to expand on the universe of the popular The Falconeer, with an entirely new gameplay design.

While The Falconeer was a game about aerial action, Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles takes an entirely different approach. You’ll return to the world of Ursee, 40 years after the events of the original game. But this time, instead of combat, construction is your goal. Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is a strategy game, in which you design the towers that litter the skylines seen in The Falconeer.

Creating a fortress is one thing. But to grow your empire and influence you’ll need to immerse yourself in a distinct minimalist brand of strategy.

Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles for Consoles

Management strategy games often get a bad rap on consoles. While there have been many success stories – recently with the likes of Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus in particular – there are many detractors. Originally designed for PC, Sala has made great effort to ensure that the control system feels just as intuitive on a gamepad as it does on mouse and keyboard. You’ll quickly be establishing trade routes, managing resources, forging alliances, and embarking on military conquest.

“Developing for console means you need to create a game that is controlled like an instrument. Without looking at what you’re doing, intuitively from your fingers straight into the gameworld,” stated Tomas Sala. “I hope people can see that Bulwark wants to take you on a creative ride that is made for controllers and big screens.”

Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles launches today on PC, Xbox Series One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The console edition of Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles will undoubtedly be a point of discussion, as Sala himself has clearly anticipated. Are you planning on purchasing a console version?
