Maximum Entertainment has unleashed a barrage of new characters, modes, options and much more content for Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons with the free Sacred Reunion DLC. What’s more, to celebrate the addition of new content, the game is now available with a 40% discount across PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC for a limited time.
Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons – The Story So Far
Set in the nuclear wasteland of New York City during the year 199X, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons features a showdown between the iconic Double Dragon brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee, and their allies against the criminal gangs terrorising the city for dominance. As you defeat one gang, others will seize the opportunity to grab more power for themselves. The game builds with each subsequent round of battling as enemies enhance their own abilities and bring in new sub-bosses to take players down. To combat this, you’ll have a multitude of powerful friends and resources at your disposal as you fight to save the city.
All of this makes for a compelling experience, as surmised in Chit Hot’s Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons review: “…the huge variety of weaponry, enemies, unlockables and gameplay modes, and you’ll see why it ranks highly among its peers. So what’s in the new Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons free DLC? First up, the characters. Series veterans Ranzou, Chin Sei Mei and the third Lee brother himself, Sonny, are joining the fight. Then we have a selection of new gameplay modes, including the debut of online co-op.
You can now take on the campaign together, or try out the new wave-based Survival Mode. Or, you can take on your friends in the new 1v1 Versus Mode.
That’s not all the Sacred Reunion DLC brings to the fight. New upgrades, improvements, additional content and even a new difficulty mode are included.
