The Batman took to the London Eye this morning, ahead of the launch of the upcoming film, The Batman. Set for release on Friday, 4th March 2022, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular superhero.
While the stunt was arranged to promote upcoming The Batman movie, it was highly unlikely that it would be the Batman, Pattinson, himself who adorned the infamous cowl. Instead, a stuntman playing the Batman stands atop the London Eye as it rotated high into the sky. 443ft high, in fact.
This is just one of many The Batman tie-ins, of course. Rocket League recently announced the launch of it’s own virtual promotion.
The Batman had its premiere at Waterloo’s BFI Imax last Wednesday, 23rd February, 2022. The movie will star Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader while Paul Dano, 37, stars as villain the Riddler. Colin Farrell will take on the role of The Penguin, whilst Andy Serkis will play the ever-reliable Alfred Pennyworth.
Film director Matt Reeves, who attended last week’s screening, has said he feels people will relate to the chaos of Gotham City because of the pandemic.
“We’ve all been through a crazy awakening in the last couple years and so I really do hope that people will relate to it. I know they will connect to Rob because he’s just a wonderful actor.”

As the Batman stands atop the London Eye, UK cinema goers can pre-book tickets to see The Batman now. With all Covid-19 restrictions now lifted, it’s likely that The Batman will receive a more positive cinema debut than the likes of The King’s Man and Black Widow. Both of which proved to be box office disappointments in the UK for their respective studios.
