The highly anticipated Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp was recently delayed yet again. According to reports, the game is complete. So, what exactly will be included when the game does see release? Read on for a full breakdown!
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp is a remake compilation. It consists of the Game Boy Advance’s Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. However, while the original titles were developed by Intelligent Systems, this remake is being handled by WayForward. Wayforward has been producing videogames since 1992, but the studio has recently found acclaim in the Shantae series.
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp Contents
The key differences between this new version and the original games are the new art style, re-recorded soundtrack, the use of 3D graphics, and the addition of online versus functionality. The full contents are as follows:
- Advance Wars Campaign
- Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising Campaign
- Online Versus Multiplayer
- Offline Versus Multiplayer
- Offline Co-Op Multiplayer
Additionally, other gameplay modes are expected, but not yet confirmed. These include:
- Online Co-Op Multiplayer
- Map Editors
- War Room
Black Hole Rising Rulesets
Given that Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising introduced many new rules to the series, you may well have some questions as to how these will be incorporated. It has been confirmed that Super CO Powers and Neotanks will be restricted to the campaign they originated from. However, in multiplayer (both offline and online) versus battles, players can choose between the Advance Wars or Black Hole Rising rulesets.
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp Release Date
The game was originally set to be released on 3rd December 3 2021, However, it has since been delayed twice. It was initially pushed back to 8th April, 2022, but the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian War in February 2022 caused Nintendo to delay it again until further notice. There is currently no official release date for the game. It’s for this reason that the game didn’t make it into Chit Hot’s picks for the best Nintendo Switch games still to come in 2022.
