Independent game studio, Awaceb have today shared a new gameplay mini-feature showcasing ocean exploration in the upcoming tropical adventure, Tchia. Currently in development exclusively for PlayStation consoles and PC, Tchia will be published by Kepler Interactive and is set to release in early 2023.
The single-player, story-driven Tchia promises a deep gameplay experience. Flush with adventure, exploration, action and stealth, grand story moments and intimate character interactions. At its core, Tchia is inspired by classic and contemporary open-world adventures.
The love the Awaceb team have for New Caledonia, homeland of Awaceb’s co-founders, can be seen in detail in this gameplay snippet. The emphasis is on cruising the glistening blue waters that surround the island. You can also see the player exploring the ocean depths and traversing the waterway of a beautiful archipelago. The art style, colour palettes and music come together to create something incredibly heartwarming and welcoming.
Away from the water, Tchia also draws inspiration from the flora and fauna of New Caledonia to create a charming open-world to explore. Players will be able to ‘soul-jump’ into animals and take to sea, land, and sky as she embarks on her journey. Players can take control of almost any animal or object they can find.
Or you can simply jam on your fully playable Ukulele.
