Gravity Game Arise has announced that Alterium Shift, an old-school JRPG from developer Drattzy Games, will launch in 2023. The game is currently in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Alterium Shift allows players to choose one of three main characters. With their hero selected, they will embark on an adventure to discovery the mysteries of the world. Whether you choose Pyra, Atlas or Sage, however, you must first undertake your training. Their teacher, Dolion, strives to mold his students into heroes. Ones better than himself.
The three heroes are taking their final test before being sent off on an important and life changing mission. What fate awaits these heroes and can they accomplish the tasks set forth before them? The bond between the main characters, each with their unique story that intertwines, and the lovingly created retrographics and gameplay will surely make you feel nostalgic.
As can be seen in the screenshots on this page, Alterium Shift bears more than a passing similarity to the SNES classic, Secret of Mana. However, looks are only skin deep. Alterium Shift does not feature real-time combat as with the aforementioned title. Instead, the game will present turn-based action seemingly inspired by Final Fantasy III.
Drattzy Games is indie game developer consisting of just two people. Friends known as Mottzy and Drass_Ray, who want to share their love for games like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI through their own games.
The game will make it’s public debut at Tokyo Game Show next week. A number of other titles set to be published by Gravity Game Arise will also be showcased:
- FORESTOPIA
- Grid Force Mask of the Goddess
- NecroBoy : Path to Evilship
- Live By The Sword: Tactics
- River Tails: Stronger Together
- KAMiBAKO – Mythology of Cube
- With Cuppa
