Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is due out in May and this week Nintendo revealed more gameplay footage. As part of the presentation, the company unveiled a new Nintendo Switch OLED Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom model that’ll launch just before the game does.
Set to arrive on 28th April 2023 with a suggested retail price of $359.99 USD, the new Nintendo Switch is emblazoned with Zelda designs. The TV dock has a bold gold and white design featuring the familiar Hylian Crest from the Legend of Zelda series. Whilst the Joy-Con controllers are golden with green and white detailing noting the right and left controllers respectively.

A couple of accessories will also bear the new design methodology. A Nintendo Switch Pro Controller $74.99 and a Nintendo Switch carrying case ($24.99) shall launch on 12th May, the same day as the game. All of the new hardware and accessories are available to pre-order now. So you can get ready for the official Tears of the Kingdom launch in less than two months.
The original Nintendo Switch arrived back in 2017, with the OLED model refresh hitting stores in 2012. Slightly more expensive than the original, the updated version sports a 7-inch OLED screen, a wide adjustable stand (great for playing in table-yop mode), a dock with a wired LAN port and enhanced audio.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom follows on from the excellent The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As the new presentation by series producer Eiji Aonuma showcased, the new game will have plenty of new features. From floating islands to explore to the ability to fuse resources together, creating new weapons or modes of transport.
