Capcom has announced that Street Fighter: Duel has surpassed four million downloads. The game launched in February 2023, after a long wait. Despite the impressive downloads reached, the game was met with a very negative reception.
Street Fighter: Duel doesn’t attempt to recreate the authentic Street Fighter experience on mobile. Instead, it’s opts for an odd combination of token collecting and essentially watching fights take place. Chit Hot’s Street Fighter: Duel review explains this in more detail.
Regardless, Street Fighter: Duel having achieved four million downloads is apparently reason to celebrate. Following March’s Monster Hunter vs Street Fighter collaboration, Capcom has announced another cross-IP campaign.
Street Fighter: Duel x Devil May Cry
This new event will grant players Special Summon Tickets which can be used to unlock the well-known devil hunter, Dante from Devil May Cry. But only from a random loot box.
Dante is a unique and complex character. He can transform into a powerful demon and deal massive AOE damage to enemies. His super and passive abilities can also interchange according to Dante’s form. His EX-Move “Power Smash” can also deal damage to all enemies and force the front row of the enemy team to switch to the back row. Moreover, the EX-Move Power Smash will be available in “EX-Move learning” during the collaboration.
The collaboration event, “Devil Invasion”, will run from 11th May 2023, to 24th May. Players can earn Demon Soulstone by completing various tasks. These stones can be exchanged for rewards in Nico’s store, such as the Strongest Demon Hunter avatar frame. Additionally, players can complete different tasks in the Agency to receive treasure box rewards. Players can unlock more valuable rewards as they complete more tasks and reach higher levels.
Street Fighter: Duel is available to download now on the Appstore or Google Play. We can’t recommend doing so, but hey, each to their own.
