The intriguing retro-styled Kvark has today launched on PC. Initially revealed back in March, Kvark is also in development for multiple consoles. Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch will also see releases later.
Co-developed by Latest Past studio and Perun Creative, Kvark invites players who are brave enough to explore a dangerous underground facility somewhere in the Czech Republic. Load your guns, put your asbestos jacket on, and get ready to uncover all the mysteries your not-so-ethical employer was trying to hide.
Kvark is a retro-inspired FPS that pays homage to such games as Half-Life and BioShock. Born from a love for the genre, the game has been developed in Unreal Engine 5. Using modern solutions such as up-to-date rendering techniques and adaptive audio, the game should make anyone who still remembers those late nights spent playing the classics feel right at home.
The game features fast-paced fights with a plethora of weapons to take on your enemies. Grenades, bazookas, the iconic EK-48, and even the humble wrench. Uniquely designed, diverse, and challenging enemies will require you to become familiar with this weaponry, as each will require a different tactic.
Of course, it’s not all about the fighting. Kvark promises an intriguing story told through hidden notepads that the player must find to reveal. Along with way, you’ll be searching for suspicious substances that may help you and solving intricate puzzles. Latest Past and Perun Creative promise detailed, interactive levels to perform all of this in. Along with the requisite hidden Easter eggs, secrets, and achievements, of course.
Kvark is available on PC from today. The game will come to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch later. No specific date has been announced for the console releases.
