We all know that movie adaptions of videogames aren’t always the best, whereas the TV shows on Halo and The Last of Us have faired much better. Originally announced back in 2015, Universal Pictures has just released the first Five Nights At Freddy’s teaser trailer as well as its theatrical launch date.
If you’re not big into gaming then you may not have heard of the Five Nights At Freddy’s franchise. This was a horror game based on a simple premise, you played a security guard hired to protect Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant. However, it’s not as wholesome as it first seems. This is because the animatronic characters which entertain the children during the day become very murderous at night. You find out your job isn’t to protect the premises, it’s to survive the night.

Five Nights At Freddy’s Teaser Trailer
From the look of this teaser trailer, the Five Nights At Freddy’s movie sticks fairly close to the source material. Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games series, Bridge to Terabithia) stars as the unfortunate security guard tasked with spending the night.
Several of the videogames’ notable features are included in the trailer. The ominous security booth with all the black and white security cameras and Freddy Fazbear’s chilling red eyes. There’s potential for it to be quite gruesome, with some spinning blades making a brief appearance.
Five Nights At Freddy’s is directed by Emma Tammi and also stars Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Kat Conner Sterling, Mary Stuart Masterson and Matthew Lillard. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is behind the animatronic designs and technology.
Five Nights At Freddy’s is scheduled to be released in cinemas and on streaming service Peacock on 27th October 2023.
