The time is almost upon us for the tenth movie in The Fast and the Furious franchise. Now simply titled Fast X, with only days to go until its theatrical release Universal Pictures has dropped the final trailer for the action-packed extravaganza.
Like all the previous instalments Fast X is about going bigger and better than ever before. After the debut trailer landed in February, fans have been waiting to see more of Vin Diesel reprise his role as Dominic Toretto, this time against Jason Momoa’s (Aquaman) Dante.
Final Trailer Lands for Fast X
So let’s catch you up on Fast X. The lavish, purple-strewn Dante is the previously unknown son of Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes. He was killed by Dom and the family in Fast Five, thus Dante has been planning his revenge for several years. The idea is to tear Dom’s family apart. This, of course, means lots of crazy car-based action in Italy, Portugal, England and even Antarctica.
Joining Diesel is a huge all-star cast of returning favourites and new faces. Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena and Scott Eastwood. Oh, and let’s not forget Oscar winners, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron, phew!
As for the newbies, you have Momoa, of course, alongside Oscar winner Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) as Tess, a rogue representative from the Agency. Then there’s Alan Richtson (Reacher), Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) and Rita Moreno – another Oscar winner – as Dom and Mia’s Abuelita Toretto.
However, this isn’t the final movie in the franchise. Fast X is actually slated to be the penultimate instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise. Some reports even suggest this film could be the first in a trilogy send-off!
