DreamWorks Animation recently announced DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing. A new racing game unsurprisingly in the vein of Mario Kart, the game was stated for release ‘soon’. Now, confirmation has arrived that this ‘soon’ is actually October, 2023.
20 of the most iconic DreamWorks Animation characters are set to take the wheel. Shift, drift and jump at high speeds across a variety of fantastical tracks inspired by DreamWorks Animation’s many fan-favourite films. Players will blaze past the competition in an action game designed for players of all ages, with solo as well as online and local split-screen multiplayer modes.
Classic Kart Racing Gameplay
The full roster of DreamWorks Animation characters has not yet been revealed. However, we do know that Shrek, Po, Tigress, Boss Baby, Puss in Boots, Hiccup and Astrid will be included. Each character boasts their own uniquely styled kart, and players can put their own twist on each ride with hundreds of customisable parts and accessory combinations.
In addition to the characters, we know that tracks inspired by locations from beloved DreamWorks Animation films will of course feature. These include The Kingdom of Far Far Away from Shrek, Bergen town from Trolls, Spirit Realm from Kung Fu Panda, Baby Corp from The Boss Baby, and New York City Zoo from Madagascar. As they’re racing, players can hit magical switches on the track to uncover hidden shortcuts.
A variety of gameplay modes will be included, such as Free Race, Cups, Challenge, and Time Trial. There’s also eight-player races online and four-player local split-screen multiplayer action.
