Dead Island 2 Scooped Guide

Dead Island 2 Scooped Walkthrough Guide

In order to gain access to the Scooped Side Quest in Dead Island 2, you must have started The Search for the Truth Story Quest. On Ocean Avenue, there’s a LA 24 News van on Stoker Place. An anchor from LA 24 News is broadcasting an S.O.S. from the news van. Your mission will become finding the news offices and trying to save the survivors inside.

Find the LA 24 News Offices

You can find the LA 24 News offices on the corner of Ocean Avenue and Yupster Court. The front doors are boarded up, but you can climb the scaffolding and use a melee weapon to shatter the glass window at the enter of the catwalk.

Climb through the smashed window and drop inside. Head left down the dark hallway, where wooden doors stand askew leading to the lobby. Against the wall you will find a pile of corpses.

Inspect the pile of corpses, then enter the lobby to find a Journal on the coffee table surrounded by red chairs. On the reception desk, in front of the phone, you can find a second Journal.

From the lobby, walk up the stairs to the second level. The door to the right at the top of the landing needs a LA 24 News Security Pass to open it. On a table on this second level you can also find the Thick-Skinned Survivor Card.

You can find the LA 24 News Security Pass in front of the elevator bay doors, next to the corpse of a security worker. Now you can open the doors to the right of the stairs.

Head in and turn right to the dark hall. Make another right, then enter the studio door on the corner.

Talk to the Survivors

Jump down from the balcony to find Esta and Nora. Talk to Esta, and she will ask you to go down to the basement and turn on the servers, so she can get the surveillance cameras up-and-running. She also warns of a big creepy running amok, but what’s new?

Activate the Servers

Exit through the door to the right of Esta and Nora. Head past the lobby on the first floor, and you will find the stairwell. Head down to the basement.

The sprinklers are broken in the hallway, and an exposed wire has electrified the path ahead. Follow the yellow wire into the storage closet to the right and interact with the generator to cut off the electricity.

There are three Server Terminals in the basement. You need to turn on all of them to reboot the system:

Left of the server room door as you enter
Behind Server Bay D
At the end of Server Bay C

Of course, you will be attacked as you activate each server. Once you’ve rebooted all three, Esta will call over the radio.

Head Back to to the 2nd Floor

From the basement stairwell landing, climb all the way up to the second floor. Turn right, and make a left at the end of the hall. Right again, and open the doors to the conference room. However fast you were, it wasn’t fast enough. All the news crew is dead.

As you enter the news studio, you will see a Butcher Apex Variant. Of course, you need to kill it. As soon as you do, two more will appear.

Once all three are dead, you can find Esta and Nora in the studio office. Talk to them to receive your reward.
