There’s been plenty of excitement of late thanks to the recent NOVA Open Previews. For Warhammer Age of Sigmar fans, there’s been the new Dawnbringers II – Reign of the Brute, introducing Destruction army additions. There was the mighty Trugg the Troggoth King and for those who love waves of green skins, the new Ironjawz are out in force.
Four new units have been unveiled, Zoggrok Anvilsmasha, Brute Ragerz, Weirdbrute Wrekkaz and Ardboys alongside a Battletome Supplement: Ironjawz.
Bring on the Waaagh!
Zoggrok Anvilsmasha is a legendary Ironjawz smith accompanied by Klonk, a rockbrow squig. Anvilsmasha can tap into raw anarchic Waaagh! energy to imbue nearby orruk weapons with fighting power. He’s armed with an ambulatory anvil which hammers power into his own ward-smashing choppa, shattering powerful enemy arcane protections.
Players can also equip Zoggrok with a pair of Grunta-tongs, further imbuing orruk weapons with the power of the Waaagh!
Orruks aren’t a subtle bunch but there are times when even these thugs pride goes to their heads. What happens when Orruk Brutes suffer an embarrassing defeat? You get Brute Ragerz. These guys double down on their loss, removing armour and grabbing the biggest two-handed weapons they can find. This improves their speed, making them even more ferocious in the heat of battle.
On the other hand, if an Orruk Brute becomes overwhelmingly entangled in the anarchic energy of a Waaagh! they become Weirdbrute Wrekkaz. Weirdnob Shaman attach gruesome bone and iron masks to the afflicted orruks’ skulls, the searing pain turning them into maniacal killers with massive chain-smashas.
Finally, you have the Ardboys, vicious armoured shock troopers. These are hardened veterans with an appetite for violence (like most orruks), armed with stikkas and shields. The latter is more offensive than defensive, covered in tusks and spikes.
Whilst the green skins will receive rules in the upcoming Dawnbringers II – Reign of the Brute there will also be a free online battletome supplement. Ironjawz collectors will also want to be on the lookout for the upcoming hog-heavy Army of Renown called the Grunta Stampede.
