One of the largest Warhammer events, the NOVA Open 2023, took place this week. As part of the event, there was a huge preview for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. For AoS collectors, one of the most exciting reveals for Warhammer has to be Trugg the Troggoth King, a huge beast for Destruction armies.
One of the largest troggoths in the Mortal Realms, Trugg has awoken from an ancient slumber and he’s got a headache. Stirred by Alarielle’s Rite of Life, it was Rabble-Rowza Braggit Big-Talka that finally brought Trugg to life. On his back is an operational arcane engine which is causing his magical migraines and subtly influencing his actions. This leads to Trugg smashing anything magical in his path.
Dawnbringers: Book II
Trugg the Troggoth King forms part of the next Dawnbringers: Book II – Reign of the Brute campaign series for Age of Sigmar. Continuing the story of the Twin-Tailed Crusade which began earlier this year.
This ornery behemoth is not alone as he rampages through the Mortal Realms. Trugg is joined by a horde of Troggoths: Fellwater, Rockgut, and Dankhold. As detailed in the preview, these will form part of a new boxset Dawnbringers: Trugg’s Great Troggherd featuring a total of 7 miniatures.
The Dawnbringers: Book II crusade features not only Trugg and his entourage but also the mighty stomp led by King Brodd and a Waaagh! full of determined greenskins astride wild hogs. The book contains both the narrative and all the rules players require to support these three particular factions with Matched Play Armies of Renown. In addition to all of this, Dawnbringers: Book II introduces an Army of Renown for the Kharadron Overlords, centred around the Grundstok Expeditionary Force.
No details just yet on when Trugg the Troggoth King will be coming to Warhammer stores.
