Originally scheduled for release in 2021, the Thor: Love and Thunder theatrical debut has slipped in 2022. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic is to blame, rather than delays with filming. Precursor movies having been delayed resulted in a need to stall the Thor: Love and Thunder release date. And then a bounce back. Confused? So are we.

Thor: Love and Thunder Release Date
The fourth movie in the Thor series will arrive on 11th February 2022. This is following not one, but two changes. So will the movie be delayed again? Only time will tell, but currently there’s no sign that Disney hasn’t taken into account all impending factors. Which is good news for fans wanting to book time in their diaries.
Why was it delayed?
Thor: Love and Thunder was originally scheduled to launch on 5th November 2021. The film is placed at the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘Phase 4’. This means that other films have to come first. Black Widow was the first culprit; filming had already finished but Disney decided to delay the theatrical debut due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
That pushed the Thor: Love and Thunder release date to 18th February 2022. However, a change in the release of the next Spider-Man movie resulted in Thor: Love and Thunder being moved again, settling on 11th February 2022.

What else do we know about Thor: Love and Thunder?
Information about the fourth Thor film is starting to flow. Most notably key announcements for the Thor: Love and Thunder cast.
Of greatest import right now is of course the reveal that Natalie Portman will be returning. Furthermore, her character Jane Foster will become The Mighty Thor. Exactly how this will blend into the storyline (multiverse not withstanding) remains to be seen. But it’s certainly going to be exciting to find out!
