Capcom has today launched Separate Ways, a new story DLC for Resident Evil 4. Available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Separate Ways follows Ada Wong’s path in the game’s story. This release follows the surprise early arrival of Resident Evil 4 The Mercenaries mode, offered for free to all players.
Resident Evil 4 is a modern remake of the GameCube classic. It debuted earlier this year, following successful remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. The game was met with widespread acclaim and a welcoming commercial performance. So the addition of a new story content is equally likely to be well received.
In Separate Ways, Ada Wong travels to Europe to infiltrate a village controlled by a group known as Los Iluminados. Under orders from Albert Wesker, Ada is assigned to obtain the cult’s mysterious material known as “the Amber.” Her operation intertwines with Leon S. Kennedy’s search for the president’s missing daughter, providing an alternate perspective on the main story that uncovers events that unfold behind the scenes.
Separate Ways also introduces an additional feature to the Resident Evil 4 experience. Ada is armed with a Grappling Gun that can be used to swing across chasms, make rapid ascents, and plunge into the depths below. She can also wield the device in combat to take on enemies in close quarters and launch into melee takedowns from a distance.
