Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is undoubtedly one of the hottest PlayStation 5 games coming in 2024. We’ve known for some time that the game would be released early next year, and rumours suggested as soon as January. However, Square Enix have now confirmed the exact release date for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. And what’s more, the publisher has also unveiled a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Deluxe Edition.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sees the return of iconic characters Cloud, Aerith, Barret and Tifa. The unlikely heroes join forces with new playable companions, including Yuffie, a member of Wutai’s elite corps of ninja operatives, Red XIII, a beast with a flaming tail who offers words of wisdom to Cloud’s party from time to time, and Cait Sith, a wisecracking, feline-shaped robot often seen poised atop his big moogle pal. Together, the team will hunt down Sephiroth, the one-winged angel bent on ruling the planet.
Players will take these characters into battle and use powerful synergy abilities, strengthening their bonds further.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Release Date
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will launch on 29th February, 2024. The game will initially be exclusive to the PlayStation 5. The game will not use any save data from Final Fantasy VII Remake, as it is intended as a standalone release. Players of the first part of the Final Fantasy VII remake project will be beginning again.
Commenting on the release date, Yoshinori Kitase, Producer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, stated: “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been set for release on 29th February, 2024. This second installment of the Final Fantasy VII remake project will feature elements from the previous game, as well as greatly enhanced features such as the vast world map to explore and synergy abilities with party members. The story will unfold more dramatically than ever before, with a rapid pace of major twists and turns. We know fans are dying to see one scene in particular…”
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Deluxe Edition
Alongside the announcement of an official release date for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth comes the reveal of the Deluxe Edition. Available to pre-order now, the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Deluxe Edition will include the following contents:
- Pre-order the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Deluxe Edition to unlock the Midgar Bangle Mk. II Armor, a bracelet worn by travelers leaving Midgar.
- Art book.
- Mini soundtrack.
- Steelbook.
The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Deluxe Edition will launch alongside the standard edition, on 29th February, 2024.
