There’s a lot to do in Palworld. Whether it’s building your base, catching new Pals or avoiding the irreversible Palworld bug, you’ll want to stay on top of things. One of the more exciting aspects of the game are the dungeons. These unique experiences can reward players with some great bonuses. But they can also be tough to beat. This guide to Palworld dungeons will teach you everything you need to know to get through the levels, and get all the loot.

What are Dungeons in Palworld?

Scattered throughout the world of Palworld, known as the Palpagos Islands, are odd looking cave entrances. Upon entering, you will find yourself playing through short enclosed spaces, ultimately looking for the mini-boss at the end of the level. They can be a test of your ability and the Pals you have with you at the time. More importantly however, they can grant you some fantastic rewards upon completion.

How to Find Palworld Dungeons

As stated above, Palworld dungeons can be recognised as cave entrances. They’re not super common, but it shouldn’t take you too long to find your first dungeon. However, dungeons work on a 300 minute timer. They will disappear when that timer reaches zero.

They will respawn later in the same part of the world, but possibly not the exact same location. They will be nearby, however. If you happen to locate a dungeon at a time when you’re not ready to enter, we recommend manually placing a pin on your map. Palworld features a huge, sprawling gameplay area. Remembering where a dungeon was previously located when you’re ready to venture in can be a difficult task.

Here’s all the different dungeon locations based on region:

  • Cavern of the Dunes – Desiccated Desert.
  • Hillside Cavern – Windswept Hills.
  • Isolated Island Cavern – Forgotten Island, Ice Wind Island, Marsh Island, Sea Breeze Archipelago.
  • Ravine Grotto – Ascetic Falls, Bamboo Groves.
  • Sacred Mountain Cavern – Icy Weasel Hill, Unthawable Lake.
  • Volcanic Cavern – Mount Obsidian.

You can enter a dungeon regardless of how much time remains. The timer only counts for entering, and you will not be kicked out if the timer ends while you’re inside.

Palworld dungeons have suggested levels. However, you can finish a dungeon at a lower level with the right Pals at your disposal. Don’t be too worried if the dungeon recommendation is a couple of levels higher than your character currently is. Just be sure you have your best Pals with you!

How to Complete Palworld Dungeons

Like much of Palworld, the presentation of the dungeons is pretty basic at present. You may think you need a map when you venture into your first one. However, you’ll soon find out that they’re relatively short, and there’s only a few different layouts.

Typically, the dungeons will have a central hub with a few different paths leasing out. Often these paths will lead to dead ends. However, there will always be one that leads to the treasure and mini-boss fight.

Within a dungeon you’ll find Pals (often ones which are rare on the world map) and Syndicate members that will attack you on sight. To complete a Palworld dungeon, you’ll have to find and defeat said mini-boss. These are typically a bigger version of a Pal found in the surrounding area of the dungeon.

Palworld Dungeon Rewards

Once you have defeated (or captured!) the dungeon mini-boss, progress a little further and you’ll find treasure chests near the exit teleporter. The contents of these chests are random, but almost always worth the effort!

Amongst the many rewards available, you may find Gold, Gems, or Technology Manuals. The latter of which will grant you Technology Research points, which are always handy!

That completes this Palworld dungeons guide! We hope it helps many of the players currently setting Steam records with Palworld. If there’s any other areas of the game you’d like a guide for, let us know in the comments below!
