Tate Multimedia has revealed a brand new trailer showcasing the cast of characters set to feature in forthcoming platformer Kao the Kangaroo. This reboot of the popular series will debut on 27th May, 2022. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The Kao the Kangaroo series made it’s debut back in 2000, on the SEGA Dreamcast. The franchise then spawned a number of different titles across a wide variety of formats, including Xbox, PlayStation Portable, GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Advance. The original Kao the Kangaroo series collectively sold more than 700,000 units worldwide. Now, two decades on, Tate Multimedia is rebooting the series.
In his latest release, Kao will use his boxing gloves to punch a path through his adversaries. He’s on a quest to find his missing sister, jabbing his way through obstacles as he pummels his way to glory. Perhaps he might even find out what happened to his long-lost father along the way?

The new trailer casts light on Kao’s mentor and sparring partner Walt. We’ll also see his mother – the “Iron Lady” – Marlene, and his best friend and notorious inventor Gadget. You can see the trailer below.
Kao the Kangaroo will launch digitally and physically on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch. The game will be priced at €29.99/$29.99/£24.99 for the digital edition, and a recommended price of €34.99/$34.99/£29.99 for the boxed retail release. The game will be available for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. All editions and formats will launch on Friday 27th May, 2022.
